How do i get DVR?

if i have the basic digital cable for comcast and i want to get DVR does it cost any money to upgrade?

yes it does, and ask your local cable provider. they will be able to assist you in getting a dvr.. it's not too much more than digital..

I have mediacom and I called and it was like 5 dollars more and all it was was a phone call.

They will usually not charge an upgrade fee. However, the box is cheaper to rent, than the DVR. For example, in my market, the regular cable box is $4.50 per month. The DVR rents for $13.90 per month.
