  1. If you visit the cruise line sites they will give you all the info on jobs. I have been on many cruises and after talking to the employees most have been doing it for years and have no plan to stop. Yes, the wages may not be the greatests but, after you figure in room & board, free medical it all works out fairly even.

At 18 try it you may enjoy it and if not you have plenty of time to do something else. Look at it as a summer job that could turn into a career. Good Luck.

  2. u probably have to apply to each cruise ship company directly

  3. Be careful. From the cruises I have been on it seems that those employees are more like indentured servants than employees. They make very low wages and work long hours. Most of the money they make is from the tips!!

    Search google!!

  4. Dude, I am an Australian working on ships and it is a great thing to do. Forget that mindless dribble about low paid indentured servants. I earn US$6000.00 per month now (no tax, rent, flights, food). Show me anyone else that can save/invest almost 10,000AUD every month.

If you don't have any experience, it will be an uphill battle. You won't get a job with the better cruise lines but will get a look in with Carnival Cruise Lines, Norwegian Cruise Lines or Royal Caribbean.

Have a look on seek.com.au as they post jobs every now and then. Also send your resume directly to the cruiseline depending on the type of job you are looking for. Keep in mind that Casino, Gift Shop, Spa, etc are hired by third party concessions and are not employed by the cruise line.

Talk to Wendy from Viking Recruitment in Sydney or Cordon Blue in most capital for F&B related jobs.

    Good luck
