How do i get a WEP Key?

I can get free internet but i need the wep key that my friend has, how do i get it?

You must ask whoever owns the wireless network for permission, otherwise it's illegal. Whoever owns the wireless network will know the WEP key.

If they don't know or remember their own key, then they may never have changed the key that came with their router from the factory. They should look for the key printed on a sticker on the router, or in the manual. (It's not the same as the serial number or model number, but it's probably a number.)

Ask them for the key and they will give it to you. If your trying to do this without them knowing well I am not going to divulge to you that information as it would be against my ethical standards as a computer repair person to allow it. Either ask and have them give it to you or buy your own is all I can tell you.
