How do i get a better picture on my 37 inch Vizio in standard deff.?

I have Direct tv but do not have high deff. I have a regular cable pluged into the back from the receiver. The picture looks great from a good distance away, however when you get with in 5 feet it looks real choppy.

get the best connection the directv receiver can offer check if it have component video or s-video both are better than composite(yellow)

hmmmmm, there are some places that sell HD converter boxes that you just hook up to your tv. its much more of hassle but that is always an option, frys will most likely sell those. or you caould just save up your money and get a samsung
