Conceal carry permits are only needed if you are going to conceal and carry a handgun on your person or in some states your car. Home protection does not require a conceal carry permit.

I am confused. Why do you feel you need concealed carry permit for your home? You may need to register the gun, but not a CCW for home protection, only to carry it off your property.

As stated above you do not need a permit to carry a gun at your residence. Regardless even though NJ law says that they can issue permits they generally do not. I have never heard of a person get a permit unless it was needed for their line of work. i.e. private detective, armored car driver
