There is no legitimate way you can get a free domain, but there are sites that offer free domain hosting. But in your case, I would not reccommend it.

A layout/graphics site takes up A LOT of bandwidth/space, and you probably can not get the space/bandwidth that you need for free. You are probably looking at over $100 a year, maybe $200+.

You can probably get away with using a free host though in the beginning since you'll probably have little to no visits. (I'm speaking from experience.)

Most of the time you can get one or the other.

If you have free hosting then you will be a sub domain not a top level domain.

if you want a free domain there are several web hosts that will let you pick your on domain if you host with them.

Kinda of a catch 22 if you are looking for both free.
