as the person who rides next to the race horse and brings them to the gate?

is there a specific name for that person? do i have to have my own horse?

Tell them you have plenty of expirence with horsres and they should buy it

Where I work, we have to be at least 16 and sign waivers and your parents have to sign if your under 18. Then they make you do a riding test to make sure you can handle it(some of the race horses are very badly mannered), and then we are qualified basically, and we get paid $20 a pony, which isn't much, but it's not like people are really trying to make a living off that.
