How do i get a linux username with a live disc?

i have the live disc but whenever it starts up it asks me for a username how do i get one

Try either "root", "user", or "guest" with no password. Are you using a Ubuntu live disc, or another one?

Many Live CD's use the username root and the password toor.

try root as username and password root

create an account

useradd usernamehere

passwd usernameheretochangepassword

But there is no point if you remove the disk what you did will be undone after reboot

The username is default and there is no password.

You can't create accounts or do anything with a live disc, because it is running off the disc and has not got access to your hard drive therefor it has to memory/space to do anything.
