  1. take hunter safty

  2. You need to first, have no criminal record. If you need to check on that, you will need to contact the Arkansas Crime Information Center. After that if you are in the clear, you need to find a state certified Concealed Carry License Instructor in your area. You can find that out through the Arkansas State Police HQ in Little Rock. Enroll in the one day course, which will include everthing you need to know about carrying a concealed weapon and then a written test and live firing at the range. Once you pass the course and pay the instructor, send in your paperwork that the instructor gives you upon the succesful completion of the course and the fee for your license to the address that you will be given for the State Police. In a few days to a week, after they check you out and are given the go ahead by your local Sherriff or Chief of Police, you will recieve your license in the mail. Good luck and I agree, I never go to Little (Crack) Rock or Pine (Crime) Bluff without packing.

  3. First thing you have to do is find an approved concealed carry course. this usually runs about $100, give or take. the course is an 8 hour course and deals heavily in the laws and regulations concerning the carring of a firearm. Upon completion of he written test asnd live fire exercise you will be finger printed and given a packet of paperwork to be sent, by you, to the state police.

That information is sent to the FBI as well. Both the state police and FBI will do a thourough background check to makr sure you meet the standards for concealed carry. This also requires a fee. I believe it cost me about $225.

In 1-6 months you will receive your permit or an explanation as to why you do not qualify. Do not get discouraged about the time it takes. The state police and FBI have a bcklog of permit request so it does take time.

So, the short answer is: About $325, a 1 day course, and up to 6 months of waiting.
