How do i get a pet monkey.

i live in the u.s. and i like monkeys is it legal to have monkeys if so where do you get one and how much would they cost

Monkeys are not good pets it would take a lot of work to look after them,and they belong in the wild anyway.Try something else like a dog,cat,turtle,guinea pig,etc.Hope I could help.

It's not fair to the monkey to have a potentially impulsive person such as yourself taking care of it. Monkeys do not make good pets. They require very special care from very special and dedicated people. They're not something you think, "Oh, I want this," and everything is peaches and cream.

A few years ago, I thought about getting a monkey myself, but I did the research and found that it wouldn't be fair to the monkey or myself to do so. That is despite the fact that I would be a very dedicated owner. If you like monkeys so much, volunteer at the zoo.

Depends on where you live, you'd have to look up your local laws but I'm pretty sure you would be required to get an exotic animal license of some kind.

Why would you want a monkey though?  They are wild animals and don't do well in captivity. Sure they look cute as babies but they are prone to bite and scratch when they grow up.  And those hands can open any door and get into anything.  And the screeching and the jumping and climbing on everything.  And why would you want a pet that needs to have a diaper on every day?  IMHO you should save yourself the trouble and just get a domestic animal.  But its your choice, do some research, get your license and have fun with your new pet.

Monkeys do not make good pets. If you did your research you would know that. Reconsider, there are so many horror stories out there and the odd are that you will just be another one in the end.

Monkeys become dangerous and aggressive wen they hit puberty. If you are living alone then be prepared to for the rest of your life. Monkey will not accept  intruders  into their homes and will attack them, they don't care its your girlfriend/boyfriend.

Monkey can cost thousands of dollars to buy and between food, vet care, toys, etc can cost another few thousands a year to keep.

Legality depends on the state you live in and some towns have restrictions even if they are legal in the state.
