  1. I know this sounds strange but it wouldn't hurt the table to try it. My grandmother used ashes (from cigarette or cigar) and water. Make a small amount of  thick "paste" and gently rub it on the water spot and see if it doesn't reduce the stain. I think it may draw the moisture from the spot. You could test it in a concealed area first..


  2. I use "ringaway" Jessie, in a tube, works a treat for me. Simple and easy, just the way we like it :-)

  3. don't sand - it will leave permanent scars even with the finest grain paper.  look at Rockler's on line - they have colors that can refinish furniture and really they do work - i've used them a lot.

  4. Sand it down then re-polish it
