How do i get airs? I started to learn today, and was kinda getting it but i need advice.?

Speed is a must but even more you need to time your attack right.  You need to hit the lip just as it starts to break over.  If you hit too soon, you go out the back.  If you hit too late, your rail wont launch and you end up with more of a roller coaster then air.  The idea is to hit right at the steepest point, and have your board pitch slightly forward.  Throw your momentum upward while pulling your forward foot downward.  As you come back to the wave, turn to prevent your nose from pearling.  The more speed and steepness of the wave face, the higher you get.

Man the only advice anyone can really give for that is: speed, speed and more speed. Speed it the key to learning airs and executing them properly. It also depends where you surf. Mushy waves obviously arent good for airs or speed. Surf smaller, quicker waves, get tons of speed and just launch.
