How do i get an agent???

i am an actress. im just starting out and i want to know how to get an agent...i have taken lots of classes and everything but everyone says "get an agent" so....how do i do that??

  1. It really depends what you want to do.  If you'd like to be a good stage actor, you don't really need an agent until you're in high demand.  

    If you're interested in TV and film, eventually you'll need an agent to get you out on auditions.  However, when you're just starting out, it's best to get more training and experience before seeking an agent.

    Bottom line, you're a product for the agent, and if you don't have any skills or talent s/he can sell, s/he is not going to want to represent you.  

    That being said, once you've gotten the training and experience, you submit your headshot and resume to the agent and request representation.  

    There are a number of acting sites that can give you advice on what kind of headshot, how to prepare your resume, etc.


  2. Look at different agencies and research them. Also, Shia Lebouf (guy from transformers and indiana jones) looked up his agent in the yellow pages. You could do that, but be careful, as there are many fake agencies and non good agents. Have an interview first.
