If you go Start>Control Panel>Network Connections there are two options under the "LAN or high-speed internet" section. For some reason i only have one, "Local Area Connection". How do i go about getting the wireless configuration one back?

Any information/tips/links would be appreciated

  1. Try these 2 things:

Right click on My Network Places

    Click Properties

Make sure all of the connections are not disabled.  If they are, right click them and enable them.

See if it is disabled in Device Manager.

    Click Start

    Right click My Computer

    Click Manage

    Click Device Manager

See if there are any red X es and if there are, right click and enable them.

I always tell people before you go wireless, you should watch this video: http://www.cnet.com/4520-7390_1-6274537-...

  2. This will only be there if you have a wireless card and the drivers for that wireless card installed. If this computer did not come with a wireless card (most desktops do not come with a wireless card) then it will not be there. If you have a wireless card, then go into your Control Panel, go into System, and in the hardware tab click on device manager. This is the list of drivers you have currently. Your wireless driver will almost always be listed under network adapters- just click on the + next to it and you'll see the list. If it's there, you can try activating it by just right clicking it and choosing enable. If it's not there, then you need to install it. The driver will be at the wireless card's manufacturer website and (if it was preinstalled) it may also be at your computer manufacturers website.
