  1. Stay on your toes and dont listen to the other girl watch the f*cking ball! and use your instincts. move your feet as if your are going to tackle them to get the attacker nervous. jocky around and learn to read the game so you could anticipate it.

  2. Work on your footwork.  Quick feet and a strong midsection are two of the keys to defending.  Working side to side with a medicine ball will increase your core stregenth which aids in changing directions.

I suggest running up hill for stregenth and down hill for speed.  Run untill you are tired make the decision and then run a little more.  Keep at it!

  3. Side tackles but be careful....

  4. TIPS ON DEFENDING :

    -ALWAYS stay be moving

-be able to CHANGE directs really quick

    -be QUICK & FAST

-LOOK at the person who your defending CORE NOT FEET OR BALL. cause their feet & ball will go one way & you'll follwo that then get burned.

-have a GOOD defence stand. have your right or left foot out in fornt of you while your other foot is behind it. & have your hip turned towards the striker or midfielder.

EX: if your right foot is in front put your right hip towards the attacker.

    TIPS on BEATING a DEFEDER:

    -have good footwork & speed

-if their right hip is towards you do a MOVE your GOOD at & do that MOVE to the LEFT of so you FORCE the DEFENDER to HAVE to turn around.

-do the 3 attacking steps...1) commit the defender. dribble up to him/her & force them to make a defence stand 2) do a MOVE around them 3) EXPOLDE either by PASSING or DRIBBLING.

    -be give into the defender

-if you lose the ball win it back

    NOW DRILLS

basically just practice againist someone is how you'll become a better defender. you have to be able to force on their core not their feet or ball. practice trackling. try not to just stick your foot out to win the ball. NEVER GIVE UP! if a player gets past you RECOVER! have good speed & be able to RECOVER! practice clearnces not just kicking the ball up field but also passing. practice dribbling...esp if your an outside defender. you might need to go up as another midfielder. practice heading the ball high & low. have a good first touch! first touchs are EVERYTHING! practice shooting too...sometimes you get a shooting chance.
