  1. It sounds like you've got the right attitude to get better.  That is; Keep trying!

Try different discs until you find one you like.  Did you know there are discs that will actually cut to the right or left?  Yep.

The best advice I can give you is to concentrate on keeping your drives low.   A common mistake is to throw the disc up into the wind where it will cut way left or right and most likely not go as far as a disc thrown level with the ground.

Another tip; throw your short putts on an arc into the basket.  That way if they miss they don't go way past the basket.

For putts under 12 feet you can try a basketball or grenade toss.  This is what I call it when the disc flops end over end into the basket instead of spinning.

Also, don't be afraid to try new forehand and backhand throws.  There are all kinds of ways to hold and throw a disc.  Watch other people and you may find a new technique that gets great results for you.

Type in "disc golf" on you Internet search engine to find countless sites that give instruction and info on disc golf.

    Good luck and have fun.

  2. Mostly just practice. If you can, playing with better players who will let you pick their brain can do a lot of good. There are some instruction videos on Youtube and some DVDs you can buy as well. I'm not a great player or anything, but I quickly found out that you can increase your distance and accuracy a lot more quickly if you learn better throwing technique.
