My hybrid and fairway wood shots have never been very good. I'm not getting any distance or height on them. Any tips on how to hit these clubs better?

  1. Lessons (if you think you need them) then practice, practice, practice.

  2. pay for a lesson with a swing coach and concentrate on these clubs....s/he should be able to locate the flaws in your swing and give your exercises to work them out....then it is simply putting the time in at the range.

  3. Work on Trajectory, not distance. When you can get the ball to go straight off of the clubface, the rest will come. Practice, and focus on a smooth, not a hard swing.

  4. It really depends on your swing. It could easily be that your hips arent moving very well with the rest of your body. Much like Tiger Woods I started to use my legs as leverage though I'm not as near as good as he is. He stresses his weight on his legs and then lets it all go. Try moving ur hips more. I also had to over come the problem with keeping my left arm straight during my swing.

  5. I set up like I'm hitting a wood and not an iron. I stand a little more upright and play the ball forward in my stance. I also swing more around my body and less vertical. It seems to work most of the time.
