  1. this may be kinda simple.....but practice, practice, practice!

  2. Don't try to slam the ball and be the super star. First work on knowing when to hit and getting in in the direction you want before trying to show off.

  3. PRACTICE

  4. The ball needs to be set close to the front of court and timing takes alot of practice. We used to practice jumps by someone getting on opposite side of net, side step running ,jumping up and high 5 both hands with opposite player

  5. practice makes man perfect, like practice volleyball will make you good in the sport

  6. it is all about the position you are in      i guess no matter what you want to hit it down at the highest point you can reach it      a middle should normally start right when the ball passes their shoulder   and the outside and weak side go when the ball is set

  7. a couple of good answers on this... but i:d like to add that... like with any sport, the way to get better is to play with better players. ask them for advice on your technique/form etc.  i can't correct or teach you online when i can't see what your hitting looks like.

we all wanna spike the ball thunderously. the best advice i can give you is practice, practice, practice. keep hitting til you get a good hit and remember what you did or ask others what you are doing wrong.

to hit correctly, you need to time your approach well.... wait til the ball is at the apex, then make your approach so you will hit it at your maximum jump. when you make contact with the ball, make sure you snap your wrist creating top spin which will ensure the ball will go downwards really fast.

  8. when the setter sets you the ball, dont try to slam it, get it over the net. the hard hits come with practice.

  9. have fun

  10. You should always act as if you are going to spike the ball hard.  Always approach aggressively.  However, to win points you must develop the ability to hit spots and keep the ball in.  A deceptive off-speed hit will go a long way towards making you a good volleyball player.

A area of hitting that is often overlooked is knowing what to do if you are given a bad set, or if your approach is bad.  A way to keep the ball in play is to bring down your arm and fist the ball over the net.  You won't win points this way, but can keep a lot of balls in play.  Nothing upsets the coach and the fans as much as a player that repeatedly drives the ball into the middle of the net or into the back wall when there is no change of executing a clean kill.

To be a good volleyball hitter, you must learn to coach yourself.  After every play, and every hit in practice, you should evaluate what you did and how you can do better the next time.

  11. You take your approach when you the ball leaves the setters hands.

  12. this is how you get better practice every single day and when the ball gets closer to you where you can jump up thats the right time to slam the ball.
