My dog pees in one spot of my kitchen, I have mexican style tile and it gets deep in the grout and spreads across the floor. I use a shark steam mop, but I can still smell the pee, anyone know how to get that smell out?

  1. bleach!!  or if can damage your color use bleach alternative!!!

  2. http://www.associatedcontent.com/article...

  3. I just ran across this myself.    My girlfriend told me to use vinegar water... white vinegar .. not apple cider vinegar...

    It worked for me..

    Good luck

  4. windex n rubbing alchol n a match

  5. Go to a pet store and buy some odor remover. Spread a thin layer over the grout and don't wipe it up for an hour. This way it will hopefully seep into the tile. Wait 24 hours. Wash the floor with a solution of the odor remover and a mild detergent. Do this daily for a week. If the odor is not gone by then, you might have to seal the grout with some kind of topcoat to prevent the odor and to do this you would need to consult the old pipe smoking geezer at your local small hardware store!

  6. white vinegar & baking soda. Sprinkle the baking soda on the affected area, spoon the vinegar over  "do not breath the aroma" it does work!

Like pouring kerosene on a fire, boiling affect!

  7. you clean it with cilit bang......BANG AND THE PEE IS GONE

  8. Try a hospital grade disinfectant such as a lemon solution.

  9. you start by training the dog to pee OUTSIDE. it will always pee on that spot no matter how much you clean it. but once it stops the smell will fade off with your cleaning. i  trained my dog to pee outside once it pees on the door i would not punish it cause i would know it tried to get out and the door was probably locked. but when it pees any other place, i would punish it.

  10. The easiest and surest way to get urine odor out of tile and grout is to first wash and rinse the area with TSP...the real stuff from Lowes Paint dept that contains tri sodium phosphate (it used to be in Tide and other really good cleaning products but has recently become politically incorrect). 1 cup of TSP powder to 1 gallon of hot water.

Use a water tolerant vacuum cleaner to remove the spent TSP and the rinse water. IE Rainbow vac or carpet cleaning machine or wet/dry shop vac.

    Let dry for 24 hours

Apply a mixture of OdorXit Concentrate 1 part, Hoover carpet cleaning concentrate 2-3 parts and 30 parts water. Spray or pour it on the tile and grout and make sure the area stays wet (not damp) for 10 minutes.

    Allow it to dry naturally.

The odor will be gone forever or until the dog pees there again.

Once the odor is gone, treating future pee accidents is really easy. Dilute the urine with water and vacuum up immediately. Mix 1/2 ounce of OdorXit Concentrate with 15 ounces of water in a trigger spray bottle and spray the affected area. The urine odor will never develope.
