  1. DONUTS

  2. a cheerleaders workout isnt going to make you skinny, in my case i gained weight from muscle and went up a pants size because my legs got big. the most important exercises for cheerleading are ones that target legs, arms, and abs.

as for the pike, do your jump in a mirror so you can see what you need to work on. just practice!

to make your motions tighter, make up cheer sequences and do them in a mirror so you can see your motions. just make motions sharp and on time!

  3. You do not have to be skinny to be a cheerleader!!! You can base and do great cheers. It is not about that. I happen to be skinny but I am the smallest on my squad! There are some amazing cheerleaders that are your size. You do, however, need to get in shape. Do core work. Crunches(do them right and no sit ups), running, planks, sit backs( sit with your knees up and your feet flat on the ground, then tighten your abs and lean back with a straight back. Hold this for like 20 seconds then go back further for 10). Don't run too much though, it is not as important. The core work will help your jumps. You will probably be a base and a spot so maybe lift some weights. Strengthen your wrists, arms and legs. This will help a lot. Work on perfect jumps, and kicks. In the end all this will help you loose weight, but that shouldn't matter.

    Hope I helped!!

  4. If you want to get fit for Cheerleading, then you should be focusing more on your strength than losing weight. Strength training will allow you to tone your muscles that you need to stunt, jump, and cheer. The Cardio will give you the endurance you need to complete the overall routine and to keep going during practice. I make my girls to the typical push-ups, wall sits (30 seconds against a wall), V-ups and Pike pops. Crunches sequences will help with your core. You will struggle without a strong core. Try doing 5 - 10 - 15 - 10 - 15 of regular crunches, then the same sequence to the left, then to the right. I hope this helps!

To get your pike just right, you should be completley stretched. Bring your feet out infront of you while sitting on the floor, making sure your toes are pointed! Then bend down as far as you can with your arms out in front of you as well. Try practicing power tucks as well to help get your height.

  5. girl, its okay. i'm about your size, and some girls on my team are the same size too. and they are great cheerleaders. the best thing to do i think, are these things called v-ups.lay on your back and quickly bring your hands past your knees, so your balancing on your butt. for your pike, just stretch, and practice. practice makes perfect :) also, do squats. i'm a backspot, and depending on your size, you problably will be too, or a side base. when your stunting, you need your leg muscles to help get your flyer up in the air. hope i helped :)
