How do i get from Yaxchilan mexico, to cross the border to guatemala and head to Tikal?

I need bus info, distance and time if possible. So, is it possible and safe?

I would strongly suggest flying into Guatemala.  There are flights daily into Flores, Guatemala which is a short bus ride to Tikal (an hour and a half tops).  This is much safer.
