You are going down the wrong road my friend.   Powdered it the way to go with a good chaser.  But **** man, don't do it.  It will make you feel like **** and is NOT a cool high.

It's best to grate from fresh, brew it on the stove in simmering water for a half hour & strain, but you need at least a 1/4 cup to every cup of water and it tastes awfull!!! A little lemon juice and honey helps but personally I would never try it again!!!
