How do i get in shape for field hockey tryouts fast?

i have high school field hockey tryouts in about 21 days. i havent been running as much i should have this summer. but i need to get my mile and a half down too 12 minutes. and i need my over running too get better because i get really tired and whinded when i run. how can i get better at running in 21 days!?

  1. Start jogging one day then the next go for longer then longer and so on and that might do it.


  2. just run to get good at something you need to paractice it just run that mile and a half do it at least once a day you should do 2 or 3 times a day but when you get used to running that far youll better at it

  3. run as far as you can then walk for a while then run as far as you can then walk. eventually you will get up to a mile or so before you even feel winded. that worked for me

  4. run every day, for 30 minutes, and do fartlek runs. google them (: they help a lot and target the areas of running you need for field hockey, since field hockey is all about acceleration and dashing to recieve the ball. basically, you need to work on your sprinting, since you dont have much time. go to a track, and do a 40 mile dash, and sprint a 400. jog the curves, and sprint the straights. & youve gotta be consistent. dont skimp out now! another good idea is to run that 1.5 mile every day at an easier pace and work up till you get to a 12 minute mile and a half, which isnt THAT hard. & the day before tryouts, rest up and eat a banana! (:
