you want to research the oldest laws on the books....

Here's an example of one that I know off the top of my head....

After US independance.... US law was lagging behind...  stories of the "wild west" now fill the hollywood archives as a result.

LAW: No guns in bars or at barbecue's... (any gathering with alcohol)

This is still true today, EVEN IF you have a concealed weapons permit.

I saw this on the History channel...Oddly enough..it was "the history of BBQ", which btw originated in South America.

Nowadays the law has been expanded... you can't go hunting or fire a gun after having drank alcohol.... for obvious reasons.. .alcohol and firearms do not mix.
