  1. Do they give a reason why not?

  2. call a moving co and ask what ins co they have.

  3. http://bkorn442.tripod.com is an insurance agency that should be able to help you.

  4. Well, you're problem is most likely, that you're calling State Farm, Nationwide, Farmers, the direct writers.

You can't write a moving company with a standard carrier.  You need to go through a local, independent agent, who can get you some nonstandard quotes.

Having said that, if you are two guys oer 25 with clean driving records, and one truck,  full coverage on that truck is probably going to run you around $15,000 a year.  The workers comp for the two guys, probably close to $10,000 a year.  And the general liability - the cheap part - will run you around  $2,000 a year.  The interstate filings, and mandatory cargo coverage, another $2500 a year.

Just so you know what you're looking at.  It's possible, if you're calling independent agents, that they realize where the pricing is on this type of risk, and don't want to "waste their time" getting quotes for insurance you're not going to be able to afford.    If you called me, I'd charge you $500 brokers fee to get real quotes, and apply it against the premium, if you actually ended up buying the coverage.
