How do i get into a good habit?

okay i really need to get into a good habit i constantly want to go on the compter instead of school and chores i hate doing but i know i need to do them!!! and ive tried getting into the habit but nothing works! please help me!! :D

  1. Well, that isn't getting into a habit, that is taking responsibility.  And we all have to do it.  So the quicker you get the chores and school out of the way for the day the sooner it will  be playtime.  


  2. i gots the same problem shut down the computer and set a timer for 1 hour. as loud as it can go and then shut down computer and do chores and school, and every thing but drugs and some times if you wanna go 2 computer drink a glass of water or go outside and walk, it really helps! :D

  3. like whenever you want to go on the computer just do some chores or homework to keep your mind off of it....and when you do go on the computer you should set a timer for like 30 minutes and when the timer goes off get off of the computer and do some homework or chores it will take a lot of work to get into the habit of doing it but it WILL work over time.

  4. you reallly just gotta focus on positive thinking - you can do itttt ! i bet you anything , you can . just do it once and continue to do it everyday i have the exact same problem . or well used to . i know its easier said then done , but honestly once you start getting used to it its easy . and the more you do it the less torubles you will have !

  5. Simply put, but hard to instill, you have to retrain yourself.

    Instead of doing what you want to stop, intentionally do something else, even if only temporary and just as bad.  This may start another habit but will get over the one least pleasurable for you.

It's all in your mind.  We are on this earth to learn to control the flesh.  The flesh just wants to party and have a good time.  You must develop a mind set where the mind dictates what the flesh is going to do. Once you master that, then developing the right habits will come easy because the mind in control.  

  7. i had this same problem.  i still occasionally get distracted on the comp but i have made some progress.  this is what i do...

    - i have a time limit - i decide to spend an hour on the computer then would go and do something productive like clean my room, study etc and then come back to it later if i felt the need to.

    - i try and finish all of my chores first then go on the computer

    - if my mum asks me to do something i do it straight away instead of delaying because i usually would forget about it later.

    just try and get into a routine, prioritise chores and homework and limit the time you spend on the computer, perhaps do 1-2 hours of study then 30 mins on the comp as a break. and then do chores for an hour then the comp for 30 mins etc....put a timer or alarm on so you know when the time limit is up.
