  1. To get into any racing you start at the bottom. Many drivers start off on go carts or rally cars. I think you need to have money to get into the sport because even to start off on go carts or something small you'll have to fund it yourself unless you get a sponsor and who's going to sponsor someone who has never raced.

  2. You watch to much TV

  3. don't its lame. all around lame.

  4. Since D1 is still very much on the ground floor in the US attend an event and talk to some of the drivers. The few top American drivers have a very diverse racing background.

  5. Depends on where you live. A few local oval asphalt tracks run special drifting events. Irwindale Speedway in California comes to mind. Here are a couple of links that list some upcoming drifting events

  6. You don't

  7. Ok this is what you need to do.  I am assuming you already have a car and some skills.  Gonna need those later.  Like the earlier post says, go to local drifting events, wherever you are, meet the people.  Once you are confident you need to enter a low level drift event, your region's championship, what have you.  If you place in the top 4 or so you can apply for a formula d pro-am event, using that as your credentials.  There is a pro-am series for formula drift now, so you cant just turn up and qualify like you used to be able to.  Once you complete the pro-am, you get your formula D competition licence.

    Does that help?
