How do i get into this college?

I'm becoming a freshman, and I really would like to get accepted into UCLA. Since, I'm in High School now, I would like to get my goals straight. I am thinking of taking IB, but i don't know what else that will help me get accepted.

Funny thing about UCLA it has a significantly higher admission rate for transfer students than freshman:

So if you don't make it as a freshman go to a CC and try as a transfer.  BTW I wouldn't worry about IB - I would do AP instead.  I have heard IB destroys your soul.  The transfer rate being so good you might like to consider graduating early with a CHSPE and going to a CC.

Do not worry about AP and IB; neither is technically better than the other. You will need to do some research into UCLA, however. The thing with AP and IB is that some schools value one over the other more, etc. However, if they both accept them equally, you should probably do AP, as the tests have less writing and are therefore "easier to study for."

PSAT is a very good idea. Of course, extra curricular are great. From what I hear, colleges are just in love with Student Council and the like.
