How do i get involved in missionary work?

Question

I am really interested in helping those in need. I want to find a group that travels to poverty stricken areas to help and teach them. To me this is a huge thing that i really want to get involved in. Do you have any suggestions as to where or who i might look? I don't want to travel overseas or do anything over two weeks

Go to church. They always help local families and do missionary work for like a week in Mexico.

You can also check out the United Nations' campaign to End Poverty by 2015. This campaign is supported by millions around the globe.
