  1. Most areas have an office for Volunteer Work, your local Social office will be able to give you info. Or they can introduce you.

  2. check your neighbourhood church

  3. There are several organizations that can use volunteers.

Start with your interests.  Do you want to help: animals, elderly, children, professionals, college students, cultural organizations etc...

Then get the phone book and call people in those areas.

Most animal shelters need volunteers, there are usually mentor programs in each town, you can tutor people younger than you for free, you could go to your local college and help out an organization there.

You can also contact The United Way who helps connect volunteers with places they can help out.

    Their website is www.unitedway.org

That's great you want to get involved.  It'll help you and others.

  4. What country are you in?

There's also this government sponsored site, http://volunteer.gov/gov/ which provides volunteer positions through USA federal land agencies like Fish & Wildlife, Forest Service, National Parks, etc.

  5. In the UK try www.do-it.org.uk or visit your local Volunteer Centre.

  6. You may want to see if you have a Community  Development Corporation in your area. They have programs and events that couild use help all the time. You can start small and locally with them and you will be surprised how much information there is on different events. Pick a charity and hold a fund raiser, work for a local Community Pantry or a church. They have tons of information and projects as well.

  7. hospitals have volunteer offices....   talk alot,  buy people coffee you help and act like you are helping more than the other people ..... its all in the heart....  maybe youll mak a name for yourself.....   bye,  ken

  8. You have typed "voluntary positions" into google and not got anything? I don't think so. Try again and try harder.

Basically you just find an organisation that does something that you feel strongly about - helping animals, feeding the homeless, saving the trees, whatever - aand contact them, offering yourself for voluntary work.

They'll get back in touch and take it from there.
