  1. A recipe for removing wax from wood:

    Things You’ll Need:

    1) Hair dryer

    2) Your fingernail

    3) Scouring sponge for non-scratch surfaces

    4) Clean cloth

    5) Mixture of one part vinegar, to one part water

    6) Sponge

Step 1:  Turn your hair dryer to low, and heat up the spilled candle wax. You want to heat the candle wax just enough to be able to lift it from the wood. Overheating, or completely melting the candle wax, will only set you back in the removal process, bringing you right back to the beginning.

Step 2:  Try lifting the candle wax off of your dresser only after it becomes softened with the hair dryer. This can be done by slipping your fingernail under the wax and lifting, or by rubbing the scouring sponge over the wax until it lifts up.

Step 3:  Continue the process of applying heat with your hair dryer, and lifting with your fingernail or scouring sponge until the candle wax is completely removed.

Step 4:  Lightly clean the area with a sponge and the water and vinegar mixture.

Step 5: Dab the area dry with a clean cloth. The wax is gone, and your dresser is as good as new!

  2. Put a cloth over it and apply a hot iron.

  3. Take a towel you won't use anymore and put it over the wax, then take an iron on low-medium setting and iron over the spot.  It soaks the wax (color and all) into the towel.  I've used it on everything from walls, to furniture, to clothes, to carpet.
