How do i get money from my bonds account?

I have a generic bonds which is 6 months in but due to unforeseen circumstances i need money, I have wrote three letters to my bank who does seem like budging at all, what can i do?

  1. if they are savings bonds you have to wait until they are mature otherwise you will get less than face value for them


  2. I'm not sure what a generic bond is, but any broker can sell it for you for market value minus a fee.

    Almost any bank will cash a savings bond even if it is not mature.
