Question:

How do i get more flexible, like to get the splits down?

Okay, i have company tryouts this fall. And i would like to be able to have my splits almost all the way down by tryouts. I have a little over a month and a half. Any streches or suggestions that i can do to improve my splits?

  1. do your splits as far as you can go and just like a centimeter farther to stretch your musles so work out your legs good luck!


  2. take a hot bath cuz warm muscles are more flexible and limber. soon after, do all three splits and repeat this technique every day. i am 11 and this worked  for me. good luck at company tryouts!

  3. First, stretch really good so you don't pull any muscles. Then, try your splits and push a little further than you normally do. It should hurt a little. If you keep doing your splits to the point that it doesn't hurt they aren't going to get any further. You can have your splits down if you try! Good Luck!

    P.S. Try stacking pullows under your legs and remove them one by one as you grow more comfortable so you gradually get closer to the floor.

  5. 1) get two mats or a few pillows (firm ones!!) and place them (in two stacks) like a foot or two apart and then situate yourself in a split with just your shin (you know the part just below your knee) down to your toe on each so that like the middle (pelvis whatever lol) is in the middle place your arms out to your side and let gravity pull you down in the middle (lol i have no clue how to describe it better) then try it on each side...

    *For the middle split do the same and try to get your elbows to the floor and hold yourself and let gravity pull you down...

    2) for side splits:

    1st stretch

    2nd get as far as you can into your split

    3rd bend over your outstretched leg in front

    4th hold for eight counts

    5th then rock your split in towards the middle/front but don't let your legs slide back (hold 4 eight)

    6th repeat on other side

    ** then slide down into your middle split try to get your elbows to the floor and hold for half a minute and try to let gravity pull your weight down**

    --it'll hurt so i like to listen to some relaxing music when i stretch to take my mind off the pain because you have to push through it so you get better--

  6. my gym coach tought me how to do the splits by pushing me down and holding it 4 about 1-2 min. do that for once a day and you should be able to do the splits by this fall o and good luck : )

  7. Get 2 pieces of paper or cardboard and put each one up under your feet and slide down into a split. Also you can stretch to help gain flexibility.

  8. My dance teacher told me that you get your splits in only 2 weeks!

    To do this, you should stretch out your legs REALLY good any way that you want, then, try all three splits and hold them for a good amount of time..probably about a minute.

    You should do this every day before you go to bed for two weeks and you should have them!

    PS: This really works! I know many people who did this...
