  1. Don't list for less than what you're willing to accept for it.  Or place a reserve price on it, so that you don't have to sell until the bidding reaches that point.

    1)  Many people don't bid until the end of the auction.

    2) If you don't have a reserve price, and your opening bid is one penny, and one person bids, yes, you are obligated to sell for one penny.

    3) Don't expect a widget to sell for what it's "worth", unless it's highly sought after, and many people are vying for it.

    4) Many watchers are just interested in the outcome, or are researching, and never bid.  Watchers do not equal bidders.

    5) Make sure your description is thorough and good, and that you have many pictures up.

  2. You can end the auction and start over.

You can set a reserve or simply a buy it now sale instead of auction.

I'm not sure what kind of "worth" you're talking about, but if the dress is $200 retail, you can expect to get $50-$100 for it. eBayers are looking for a deal. If they can buy the dress at a local dept store for $200, why would they pay $200+shipping online? Doesn't make sense.

Yes, you're supposed to sell items to the winning bidder for the winning bid, regardless of whether or not it's what you "wanted" the item to sell for.

  3. Many times almost all bidding happens during the last few minutes.

If you have no bid you can revise the item and raise the price, but lower prices do attract more attention which can be good at the end, or you can end up with a very low bid, that's a gamble, but usually if it's a good item starting lower will end up generating more attention and more bidders at the end, and a higher selling price.

Up to you, it's your move.
