Whenever i try to play the sims 2 pets on my computer through my 26 inch LG lcd tv, the screen goes black and the tv says "Invalid format." I can hear the game in the background so i know it is playing, my tv just won't display it. The Sims 2 by itself runs fine, so I'm very confused why a expansion pack would cause my tv to not display the game. I'm assuming it has to do with the resolution of the game, but i have no idea how to fix it and neither does my dad, who's pretty good with computers. And on a side note, all my other games so far work with my tv.

TV model: LG30 26"

  1. You have to use a resolution that is acceptable by your TV. Ex: 720P, 1080i, 1080P. Make sure you match the resolutions in the options in the game.

    720P - 1,280x720

    1080i + 1080P - 1,920x1,080

EDIT: I had assumed your  computer was at the proper res., since you have been using it. But, I'm thinking you need to change the in-game res. Hook the computer up to another monitor somewhere, and change it there.

Because if you run it in windowed mode, it runs at the resolution of your desktop. So, from there, change the resolution to 1280x720, and then set to fullscreen.
