How do i get my M1 license in CA?

Im 16 and thinking about getting a vespa soon. I was wondering on how I'd go about getting my M1. I havent done driving school and i dont have a class c.

I don't think you can get a M1 license on a Vespa. You do need to pass your Class C before you can take a M1 written.

You have to take the CHP Riding training. I just got me permit today and I am 19 they told me that until your 21 you have to take the CHP motorcycle class. Your permit is great anyways your only 16 so the restrictions are no night driving no free way. Easy. I own a yamaha 750 Virago. Also with the Vespa you may only have to get your M2. Read the motorcycle riding manual it says everything you need. Good luck on getting your license and yes you do have to have a Class C to get a your M1

To apply for a motorcycle Class M1 or M2 permit, you will need to:

go to the DMV and take both written tests one for motorcycles and one for a general license this will give you your motorcycle permit ,then sign up for a MSF course in your area after passing the course you will have a M/1 license
