How do i get my birds to mate?

my babyish parakeet seems to have fallen in love with my green cheeked cunure and they kiss and clean each others feathers. I think they like eachother but i don't know if they are boy or girl a little help here

Your parakeet is a completely different family, genus and species than your green cheek.  It is virtually impossible for them to mate and produce a live chick.

Honestly, I would be careful even letting them near each other.  If they bond together, you will be considered a third wheel and the natural instinct of a parrot is to chase off their partner first before chasing off the intruder.  If your conure bites your budgie, he can do a lot of damage, it not kill him.

its normal for them to preen(clean) each other

you can tell the s*x of the bird by the cere(the thing above its beak)

and if they are in love try buying them a nest! parakeets only breed if they have a nest!

you need to buy a little house and put it in the cage. Also some dry weeds that you can purchase. The female will take it apon herself to make a nest in the house and then will lay eggs. Nature will take its course....nothing else to do. They will not mate unless she has a place to lay eggs and care for her young.
