How do i get my bugie out of his cage?

i got my bugie on sat and now it's tues and he hasen't really been out of his cage is that okay? any ideas?

thats fine. let it get used to its surroundings. if it bite you, DONT BACK DOWN. it'll know that biting will keep your hand out of his new house. just use positive reinforcement. in other words, buys some millets, and see if he'll try to get the millet on the other side of your hand, and see if he'll step on your hand to get  the millet.

he is most likely afraid and confused. put yourself in its situation, in a strange place and a strangers hand coming to grab you. try talking to it and giving it treats, my budgie loved music and to jump in the water once he is out leave the cage open so if he feels uncomfortable he can go back to his safe area, it will eventually come around.

Let it settle in until next week. Then try to earn its trust by putting mullet spray in your hand each day around the same time. Eventually it will climb on your hand out of temptation and curiosity. Once the trust is established you can let it fly free. Make sure there are no places where it can get stuck or caught. And watch where you step. Do not try to grab it to put it back in the cage, or scaring it back in. That will lose all trust. In time it will go back into the cage.

If he was not hand fed as a baby he will not get onto your hand. He may be frightened to be in a new surrounding. Talk to him softly to bond, and try to get him to come to your hand slowly.

Yes its ok let him get used to the cage for about a week or 2 and then just leave the cage open and watch him and he should come at soon
