How do i get my cable remote to work on my tv?

I've tried 6 different codes for my sylvania tv with a dvd player built in, but nothing works. pls help!! I can't stand needing 2 remotes in order to work the tv.

call your cable porovider and tell them what the problem is so companies can tell you over the phone what to do and others can fix it from thier computer at the office hope this will help
