How do i get my cockatiel to like me?

one of my cockatiel's is nice but the other one always hisses at me and he lunges at me when i put my hands in.

as they trup and when they start to sing possible sing back to

them. or even talk to them then they be more confortable to you.

the bird might have been previously abused or maybe even just scared...try a treat as a peace offering...be sure to lay your hand flatout with the treat on top or it might bite your fingers...don't approach the bird but rather let it approach you (put your hand at the opening of the cage not all the way in because it will feel the need to defend it's cage). You might also try talking/singing/whistling to the bird every time you pass by it's cage so it can become accustomed to your voice and keep noise level at a minimum because birds are easily startled and loud noises make them nervous which can lead to anger or as I call it "defense mode"

Remember it will take time and patience to gain your cockatiels trust....in time your bird should come around but just keep nuturing and loving it to the best of your ability...

PS I am not a bird expert ( but I have owned a few) so try talking to someone at your local pet store for more advice

I would also like to add that trying to hold or pet your cockatiel before it is ready for you to do so is not advised...

Birds are like us, they all have their own personalities.  Some are more outgoing, some very shy.  I would say take all the information that you've gotten here on this page and put it to use.  Lots of time, patience, and love.  Talk gently to him.  He'll come round, you'll see.  It just may take some time.  Never push yourself on him or get angry.
