How do i get my comcast modem to work with my linksys router?

i recently got a comcast modem and i need to configure my linksys router to it. But once i go to http://192.168.1.1/ , it asks for a username and password. i type in admin. but once i go to mac and type in the physical adress, it asks again for a password. i typed admin in again and it did not work, can anyone help me on getting the password for this? or is there a better and faster way?

You might try to reset the router. If you don't know how, on the back of the router there is a small hole, it is marked reset I think, you have to stick something like a ball point pen tip in it and it will wipe out the old passwords and reset the router back the it came from the factory. Run the set wizard and you should be in business. If that doesn't work call Linksys or go back straight and chat on line with them. They have pretty good customer service.
