  1. A horse is a very expensive "pet" and they take A LOT of care...............Maybe he doesnt think that you are mature enough to handle the care of your own horse, and from your post i would think the same think

  2. you can't just go out and buy a horse. You need to know what you are looking for, and what you are doing when u get it. Take riding lessons if you don't already, and actually learn what you would be getting into. I'm almost 17, I've been riding since I was nine (but only taking lessons since I was 14) and I still don't have a horse. They cost a TON of money, and with gas prices and other things this year it just wouldn't work. Seriously, don't get a horse if you don't know what your doing, it's disastrous.

  3. Sorry, but you can't make anyone do anything and 5 dogs 2 cats, thats a lot of pets and you want a horse I don't know where your from but I will assume you live in the country I live on LI NY and I never heard of anyone owning a horse except on the far east of LI but in any case I'm also assuming your from a wealthy family because a horse must be very very expensive not only to buy but to take care of and think about the mess it would make.

  4. Hi. Not to be mean or anything....a lot of us have been in your position. But do you realize how much it takes to pay for all the food and vet care for the 5 dogs and 2 cats that you have now? Or how much it costs to take care of a family? With today's economy your dad is probably realizes that with all the prices continuing to climb, that a horse will be just too expensive.

Have you thought of asking your dad to get you lesson's instead? That way you get the pleasure of riding, but not all the work 24/7. And it is a 24/7 responsibility.

Maybe you could find a stable or trail riding outfit and offer to volunteer in trade for lessons. I did that when I was 13, worked at a trail riding place..as a guide. I got to ride every day during the summers and on weekends during school.

  5. 5 dogs is a lot. but i think he is not going to budge so start saving your money honey for your own

  6. okay, horses are really expensive. the 7 pets u already have are less expensive COMBINED! than ONE horse!!!

  7. thats alot of animals

and besides horses are expensive animals to take care of

Trust me I would know we have six and the economy is crazy today...$15-$18 dollars a bale!!!!!!!

Try asking if you can lease a horse

but i suggest you start taking lessons before you lease.

  8. a horse is very expensive. when you first buy the horse that is the cheep part. the expensive part is the up keep of the horse. if you are peasant it will come.hope i helped sabrina

  9. Do you have any idea how much it costs to feed 5 dogs and 2 cats, and their veterinary care?  Multiple that several times for a horse.  Unless you have property where you can keep a horse you will need to board the horse, vet bills, farrier bills, tack, etc. Hay is outrageous where I live and they eat a lot! Why don't you find a stable near you where you can help out  and learn. Earn money and take lessons, help out at home more, show your dad that you can be responsible and not just for a week or two and maybe he will reconsider when you prove yourself - assuming he can afford it. Life is not always about what we want - I got my first horse at 32! I had to wait a long, long time.

  10. hae

im quite young 13 nearly 14 and have had alot of horses

first ask your self are you ready to take on such a huge responsibility.

horse do cost heaps and unless you can fork up the money i think your parents wouldnt want to pay all that money.

you could start saving by helping around the house or sumting for extra money and once you have earned enuf you can show your parents that you have earned the money and are responsibly and mature enough to own a horse.

and if you have a place to keep it thats kwl but if you dont then you mite have a bit of trouble lol

if you want anymore questions or continue on our chat lol you can email me

    keep trying
