How do i get my dad to get me a hamster?

im trying to get my dad to get me a hamster this is going to tough i have to prove to him that i can take care of one.

When he says "no", then say, "Well then, can I have a hamster?"

I remember doing the same thing. Try writing a paper, writing a contract, begging every day, leaving super adorable hamster pics up on the computer when you leave, tell him you'll take full responsibility, get straight A's in school (it's much easier when you have something you are fighting for), etc,etc.

Try doing research into hamster care and health, etc, and surprise him with your knowledge! If you know how to care for it, and know a bit about the breeds, I'm sure he'll be impressed.

Remember though to be sure in yourself before you get an animal, because it's for the rest of their life.

Get together all kinds of information on how to care for the baby (hamsterific.com is a great source).

Then let your dad know that of all the animals, a hamster is one of the cleanest, and smallest, so its not like you are asking for a dog that he will have to take care of while you are at a friends house. They are fairly easy to care for. Also (good and bad thing) they dont have an extremely long life span (usually 2-3 years maybe 5).

print articles about them, write one yourself, make a list of why you want one...dont beg it will do no good!

Invest your own money to buy the cages, food, hamster etc.

Take care of your room - keep it picked up.

Take care of your other duties - trash, laundry, yard, or whatever it may be.

Get your homework done - study for tests, without being told.

1) do 2 weeks of research.

2) Write a letter to your Dad saying cool facts and explaining that they teach responsibility, and that its your pet and not his he doesn't have to worry about it.  Also explain how you would clean the cage.

3)  give it to him in a  good mood.

4) tell him how good adopting is or buying them from the pet store.
