  1. push the bike down hill on 2 or 3 gear let go the cluch and it should star right away

  2. Better listen to yo-han on this.  If not and you get it started just ride it on down to the junk yard.  You might make it there before she blows.

  3. a new piston kit is about 65 bucks at rockymountainmc.com

its a very simple job - drain radiator; remove pipe, head, and cylinder; replace piston and ring; put back together.  should take about 3-4 hours for first timer.  cr80 doesn't even have power valves or anything to worry about

riding it how it is will lock it up, then instead of an easy 80 dollar top end job, you have to split cases, replace the crank ($150), rod ($100), repair the cylinder ($100-300), plus anything else it breaks, plus labor ($60-80 per hour)

  4. it must have adequate compression otherwise it would never start at all

  5. yohan is right on, you dont want to be riding that bike right now until you do the repair, its not that bad to fix it now, and it will save you a LOT.  the longer you continue to ride with the engine the way it is now the more damage you are going to do to it.
