How do i get my hair emo from here?

My hair is in layers and i have downward bangs i want just more emo looking hair my hair is a little thick i thinned it out and its about to my shoulders what can i do ?I'm sorry I'm not allowed to put a picture up.

Cut more layers in the front and make long bangs (roughly cut) across your forehead and then add more layers throughout... Here's what I mean:

I suggest deep red streaks and color it black or dark.  Or you could go totally yellow, think nancy from Sid and Nancy.
