How do i get my interest rate lowered on my credit card.....?

even after I have called and they say "there is not a lower rate available for you at this time." ?

I have heard that there are things you can say while on the phone with them to persuade them to lower it.

Anyone know what might work???

i dont use the card anymore and i pay more than the min. each month and havent had a late payment for about a year. FYI

they still refuse to lower the rate...

If you don't use the card anymore how are you paying the minimum each month? Do you have an outstanding balance you're still paying on?

The credit card companies are not obligated to lower interest rates at least not now thanks to the subprime fiasco in the US. If you've had a late payment at all (even a year ago) that's good enough reason for them not to lower it.

If you're really unhappy with the rate, use a different company.

I suggest you try paying the whole balance on your credit card and find another company with lower interest.
