The person in the pic has pretty thick eyelashes or has some very natural fake ones. I would just go with brown maybelline great lash, and there are certain brushes that you can use to seperate your lashes to make it look more natural. Also, when applying mascara apply in a zig-zag across your lashes instead of brushing them straight down because it seperates lashes and distributes the mascara evenly.

well first of all get an eye lash curler. i have a mary kay one but you can get one at any drug store for not to expensive. curl and then apply mascara zig zag.  My most favorite mascara is define a line by maybelline.

Volume XXL mascara by Maybelline (i think) will lengthen and make your eyelashes longer. Or Great Lash Mascara by Maybelline, it comes in all different colors, not just black. You dont wanna be clumping your mascara accidentally, so you might want to use an eyelash brush or a toothbrush on them after applying mascara to get rid of the clumps. They do sell natural fake lashes.  you could use fake eyelashes and then apply a little bit of mascara. they are affordable and reusable!

I'd say that if you have short lashes, then a lengthening one should work, or use one that thicken's the lashes, or add's depth. The lashes look rather natural aswell, so any type of good mascara should work, not the cheap $2 stuff that kids play with though :)
