How do i get my mac on belkin wireless internet?

i just bought a macbook today and its the only mac in the house. i need to know how to get it onto belkin wireless internet with the rest of the pcs. it keeps saying theres a password on our network but there isnt. can anyone help??!? pleaseee!!!

  1. Macs have NO WIFI problems. If it says there's encryption, there is. No question. Go into the router configuration settings and make sure it wasn't accidentally turned on. Also, make sure MAC address protection is off. That can restrict computers to their special address given to them at the manufacturer. If this is enabled, go into the network preferences utility and put your MAC address into the router.

    Note: MAC address doesn't mean mac computer, it is a networking protocol, and that's just a coincidence.  


  2. if there is no password just enter nothing and hit enter...or it may be the generic password which is usually just "password" so try that too
