  1. start off playing beach/tag/touch rugby then move on up 2 the big boys

  2. In Australia kids like you end up playing soccer......

  3. The great thing about rugby is that it is a sport for all shapes and sizes. Show her some articles (google magic) that support this, such as http://www.guinnesspremiership.com/5809_...

( look near the bottom  )

  4. Yeah, Wayne's right!!!... You should play Soccer, the best team sport going around.  You have the stamina and world-clubs would need someone of this attribute that you have.  Soccer boasts the most money/wages too!! If I had kids, I wouldn't want them to play League, if they were like u! Leave it(the sport) to the Thugs!!

By the way, at your age being in Yr9.... watch out for the coach!!  He might even ask you to get on the 'roids('the Juice'), if u know what I mean.  I remember a cousin of mine back in the early 1990's who was only 12 in Yr8 playing for his school in League, and a few of his school's opponents playing for sporting clubs at that age(such as whose school didn't have teams in that sport, and ones that were playing for schools) were on the Juice!!  No joke. It's just not worth it!!

  5. My friend plays for the Detroit Tradesman, Hes 62 230, maybe you could be a scrum half, bulk up eat 4000 calories a day and work out hard.

  6. Tell her that i was born to play rugby

  7. its either drugs or rugby.. that should do the trick

  8. Tell her its either kick boxing or rugby. Up to her.

  9. explain the game to her and tell her you'll play wing.  make sure to include that you can't tackle above the shoulders.

  10. Give the slag a good old slap

  11. Oh god no, don't play soccer. Just keep at her saying you want to play rugby. Say it'll help you make more friends and get exercise and enjoy yourself.

  12. be brave and tell her that you want to play rugby more than anything in the world and you insist, and tell her that you will have a good mental training by the coach and by yourself also so that you will have a good rugby brain which will help you avoid injury. tell her that you will play as a winger where you will be away from all the contact areas. finally start eating well and training hard by yourself.

  13. haha I had the SAME problem!!! and you know what?? she came to see a game and she LOVED it! explain the game, explain the rules and explain that as long as you are playing safe and you know what you're doing, the chances of getting hurt playing rugby are just as high as playing any other game. Good luck and have fun!

  14. my mom refused to let me play at first too. before you even ask your mom again bulk up. that's the best thing you can do. then learn about the game scrum. ruck, positions stuff like that then go back to you mom and tell her that you'll be careful but don't guarantee you wont get hurt because you will. i had two broken ankles and broke my wrist in 3 places. but i would never quit.

  15. I'd say just join the team and let you mom figure it out later.
