  1. maybe if you get them involved in outside play and tell them to cut down on the video games.tell your aunt they need to get involved in something where they could run around and play (besides video games).

  2. I would find other games that are fun to play, or crafts, or show them how to make cookies..or something. Go on a picnic, set up a tent in the back yard, go swimming.  Make it all an adventure.

  3. let them play!!! thats not even long

  4. Can you set up play dates w/ the neighborhood kids for them?  Playing that many hours of video games is just socially unhealthy.

  5. give him something else to do. the reason all these  kids are so into these games is because of bordom. if he dosent like sports and stuff llike that, then get him some art supplies. they are very cheap at the dollar stores and that can keep them busy for hours. get them some glue construction paper mabe even some do it yourself kid projects that they can do. they are at that age where i think they'd like that kind of stuff and you could even do it with them.

  6. That's his parents job, not yours.

  7. Well my parents did this to me when I when I was younger. Say hes only allowed to play 30 min each day but if he does something else (you decide what counts) such as playing outside, reading (for a certain amount of time), doing chores or work. he can gain extra time but it can only go up to something like 90 min extra.

I must say it annoyed me a little but I read a bunch of good books and my parents got me to do a bunch of extra chores.

  8. It's good you have your cousin's interest at heart. Get him out. Go cycling, a walk in the park/neighbourhood, play with other youngsters his age, bird watching, butterfly catching, photography, or art.

If I had to watch(babysit) - this is easy money just relax.

It's  his parents work to bring him up. They should spend more time with their children.

  9. Let him play video games. He will behave and have fun that way.

  10. well NOT kicking his groin would help

  11. unplug the tv & tell him it must be broken

  12. Be strong and don't ALLOW him to play for that long. if it's at y our house, let someone 'borrow' your system.  If it's at theirs unplug it and say it's broken.

  13. kick em in the groin

  14. Find more interesting activities. Probably something physical. Just tell him that while he is with you he can only play video games for a half hour. let him choose when he wants to use his half hour. And if his mom wants you to watch him she will have to respect your decisions. He doesnt even have to get physical,he can read a book. Or you can take them to the library. but dont let him play games on the computer unless he wants to use his half hour, and dont let him substitute tv for the video games thats just as bad of a habit. My nephew is really addicted to games too. He is better now but he still rather be in front of a game than anywhere in the world.

  15. its their loss if they become a 40 yr old overweight man/woman with no girl/boyfriend and who run a comic book store and they have no life

  16. hide the controlers then undo the cords in the back w/ the tv then tell him to go play and since your watching him, he has to do what you tell him to.

  17. Im 13 and i think i would know what a kid wants. Try and get him something that is really fun and involves not sitting around. The Wii is a great idea, he won't just be watching his a** grow anymore, he will actually be doing something creative.

  18. It is probably your aunt and uncle's job, rather then yours.  But if you present alternatives that are enjoyable, like games that can be played outside, or crafts/projects to do, you can usually lure small children away from video games/screens.  I babysitt all the time, and if you find something that suits the child's interest then they will abandon the vidoe games.
